Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) (Society) is an non-profit, non-governmental, volunteer organization works for thalassaemia patients management’s, awareness & research since 1989. This is the first organization of its type in Bangladesh who works to ensure quality life of thalassaemia patients and their family only. This organization is led and managed by only thalassaemia patients , parents & their family members.
On the other hand a large number of volunteer groups , kind hearted people and like minded organizations also support to run this organization. Under the leadership of Omar Golam Rabbany a group of thalassaemia patients and parents established this organization at 1989 in the name of Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) (Society). With their untiring efforts and mentorship of kind hearted people of our society such as National Professor M R Khan, Sayed Diddar Bakth many others, Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity got registration from Ministry of Social Welfare at 1994 and NGO Bureau at …….. To provide quality treatment to our thalassaemia patients & aware people of our society about this disease, Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) established a unique healthcare institution which meant for providing ONE STOP MEDICARE of thalassaemia patients. The 20-bed hospital in the name Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity Hospital (BTSH & the Blood Bank in the name Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital are registered with Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) . Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) is a voting member organization of Thalassaemia International Federation.
